Abstract

This study aims to improve student achievement Class VI SD Plus Aisyiyah Nanggalo District of the city of Padang on the subjects of Civics. This research is motivated by student achievement is still low due to the limited variation of teachers in applying learning strategies in the classroom. As efforts to improve the quality of learning and increase student achievement in subjects Civics, then applied innovative teaching strategies that can boost the spirit of students to be active in the learning process, namely Problem Based Learning strategy. This research is a classroom action research (PTK) is conducted in two cycles. At each cycle begins with planning, action, observation and reflection. In the implementation of the action, used observation, testing and documentation as methods of data collection. The results showed an increase learning achievement in the subject of Civics by implementing learning strategies Problem Based Learning in Class VI student at SD Plus Aisyiyah Nanggalo District of Padang. This can be seen in the average value of the class in the first cycle was 68.92 and rose to 75.71 in the second cycle. Students who achieve KKM (75) in the first cycle is 16 students or by 57.14% and in the second cycle to 23 people or by 82.14%. The conclusion by applying learning strategies Problem Based Learning can increase learning achievement in the subjects Civics Class VI student SD Plus Aisyiyah Nanggalo District of Padang.
