Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes Citizenship Education (Civics) sixth grade students of SDN 16 Surau Tower District of Nanggalo caused by the lack of variety of learning models so that learning Civics monotonous impacting interest and student learning outcomes. One of the methods that can increase the interest and student learning outcomes is a learning model Think Pair Share (TPS). This research is a classroom action research (PTK) is performed in 2 cycles of 2 meetings of learning. Each cycle includes four stages of action including planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The results of this study indicate that the value - average students in the first cycle of 68.89 increased to 87.40 in the second cycle. This shows an increase in student learning outcomes from the first cycle to the second cycle. It can be concluded that the application of learning methods Think Pair Share (TPS) can improve learning outcomes Civics sixth grade students of SDN 16 Surau Nanggalo Tower District of the city of Padang.
